Looking forward...The past month has been a whirlwind. The holiday season has to be either the worst time to start a new job, or the best. I'm still trying to decide. On the plus side, Nik and I had a wonderful visit with my parents, I was able to give presents (talk about last minute shopping!), and I've met some wonderful people at Nxtbook. On the other hand, it was really overwhelming to begin something new during this potentially stressful time of year. I've not exactly been the most social creature since Border's fired me, and there were so many new people to meet and events to attend during my first weeks of work (not to mention the difficulties of adjusting to sleeping at NIGHT!) that everything else kind of fell by the wayside. I miss you guys (and our all-night diner runs)!
It's been quite a while since I've logged in to DA. In the meantime, Nikki has started an account and posted some of her amazing photography. She's already accumulated thousands of page views in a mere couple of weeks! She's been showing me her gallery in passing so I know she's got some really cool pieces on there, but I haven't had a chance to browse it myself yet.
It hasn't helped anything that my computer has been on the fritz lately--an on again/off again thorn in my side--but I've begun accumulating parts little by little with which I intend to overhaul it. While I'm looking forward to doing the rebuild, I'm looking forward to putting it to use even more. Painter has lain dormant on my hard drive for too long.
If I don't draw or write something soon, I'll probably spontaneously combust or something.
